Carluke United FC 2008’s has kicked off the new football season in style this year. The Under 11s team has had its home kit sponsored and supplied by Lanarkshire IT support company VectorCloud.
The Carluke team, which plays at the John Cummings Stadium, is in the Central Lanarkshire Youth Football League. The team is now in its fifth season and will be setting the pitches ablaze this season in its red and white strip all proudly bearing the VectorCloud name.
Kevin McIntyre, Manager of the team, said:-
“We’re very grateful to VectorCloud for sponsoring the kit. The sponsorship means the kids can feel a part of the team and has given them an identity. The kit will also double as an away kit so it will be great help for building our reputation.”
Ewan McKay, director of VectorCloud, who is passionate about youth football and sport stressed the importance of encouraging young people to take up and participate in sport, saying:-
“It’s great to be in a position where we can help the local community”.
“Sport is a very important part of growing up. It not only keeps you healthy but allows you to develop communication skills. Youth football plays an important role in this and gives young people skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. I hope that by sponsoring the kit for Carluke United we are helping the players really feel part of a team and will encourage more young people to get involved with this great club.”
Home matches are played on Saturday at 10am and everyone is welcome to come along and support the team.
